What to eat & drink

Restaurants:

  1. La Gorda: Dive into traditional Mexican cuisine at this beloved restaurant, serving up hearty dishes like pozole, birria, and enchiladas. Located in the heart of Guadalajara (and very close to where the wedding ceremony will take place), it's a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

  2. Kamilo's 333: family-run restaurant serving one of the best local delicacies, "carne en su jugo," in a traditional rustic-style dining room.

  3. Restaurante Casa Luna: if in Tlaquepaque and want to have a gourmet Mexican meal surrounded by a lively atmosphere, this is the place.

  4. Yunaites • Menjurjes Pueblerinos: located inside "La Capilla" market, just across from the wedding ceremony church, they offer local Mexican breakfast and brunch with a modern twist.

  5. Café Palreal: relaxing restaurant for a good local meal (and drink) in a chilled and community driven patio.

  6. Casa Fuerte: experience the flavors of Jalisco in a historic setting at Casa Fuerte. This restaurant offers a menu inspired by regional specialties, with dishes like tortas ahogadas and carne en su jugo.

  7. I Latina: one of Toni's longtime favorites, this funky restaurant offers Asian, Mediterranean & Mexican dishes and drinks with an interesting, cool local twist.

  8. Xokol: this small restaurant in the heart of Santa Teresita neighborhood, was opened with the mission to preserve the many native corn varieties and local ingredients, and innovate with the most traditional techniques.

Bars

  1. Cantina La Fuente: step back in time at La Fuente Cantina, a historic bar located in the heart of the Centro Histórico. Sip on classic cocktails and enjoy live music in this charming setting.

  2. De La O Cantina: Craft cocktails served with regional bites in a stone-walled space with a chic, old-fashioned feel.

  3. Oliveria Cocktail Bar: 20's and 30's-themed bar serving great cocktails and occasional live jazz in the Colonia Americana area.

  4. El Gallo Altanero: "Coctelería chingona (sic), bartenders invitados con una amplia experiencia en cocteleria y destilados mexas 100%," as one google reviewer put it.
